Biography

Nigel has had a passion for art all his life. A painting from Nigel’s childhood became the starting point of this colourful journey. Currently a serving officer with Lincolnshire Police, he is due to retire after thirty years service in 2009. Nigel is busy making plans to pursue his art full time.

Born in Derbyshire, raised in Yorkshire, Nigel moved to Lincoln when he joined the Police force in 1979. Whilst working full time he has managed to create a stunning portfolio. Inspired by shapes, he takes the colours of nature and multiplies them, this has resulted in stunning beachscapes which capture the imagination.

When commissioned for portraits Nigel has a natural ability to capture the personality of his subject. Whether in pastel or oils he is able to create a beautiful portrayal of his subject.
